After hosting trail series in the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast, Those Guys Events have brought these together under the umbrella of the South East Queensland Trail Running Series.

The North Face is proud to be the presenting partner for this series that seeks to introduce a wider population to the enjoyment of trail running, and encourage runners to explore lesser known trails in the areas of South East Queensland.

Each event offers options for a short and long course (ranging from 7km – 21km) and runners compete for points to accumulate throughout the series. While there is healthy competition, the events strive to create an inclusive community for runners, and provide entertainment for spectators with coffee vans, bean bag chairs, and board games

Trails explored on the series range from open fire trails to more technical single track. Rehydration stations are at each event and runners are encouraged to carry their own drink bottles to minimise impact on the natural environment of the courses.

The Trail Running Series presented by The North Face is all about making trail running accessible to as many people as possible. You don’t have to run ultra-distances to be part of it. All races are designed to be fun, scenic and rewarding for all runners with a friendly event atmosphere that is welcoming of everyone.

With five races between the months of June and October, The Trail Running Series offers a short, medium and long course at each race, varying from 5km to 23km. Race 4 is held in conjunction with the Surf Coast Century 100km ultramarathon on the Saturday, while race five concludes the series with a night run, to give trail runners a chance to practice their skills under torch light.

The Wild Earth Coastal High 50 (WECH50) is an epic event located in the iconic and picturesque Gold Coast Hinterland. Running on trails contained within World Heritage listed Lamington and Springbrook National Parks, WECH50 includes some of the best trails that Queensland has to offer.

The WECH50 course sees runners traverse spectacular trails through sub-tropical rainforest, open forest, and along cliff tops within Lamington National Park, before descending down into the Numinbah Valley and then climbing up (then down, then up again) to finish adjacent to the magnificent Purlingbrook Falls in Springbrook National Park.
